About Alison Pope

Alison’s clients describe her as an expert with experience who provides them with strategies for their children who learn differently.

Since 2002 she has dealt with a complex variety of educational issues and school placement across the spectrum of Specific to Severe Learning Difficulty. From Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia to Behavioural Difficulties, Challenging Behaviour, Adopted Children with Learning and Behavioural issues, ASD and many other disabilities. She applies her skills and experience to advising and supporting parents to do the best for their children. Prior to setting up Alison Pope Advisory she worked with Fiona Slomovic at Advocacy and Mediation Partners. She has a son with significant learning, communication and behavioural difficulties and is a former City Private Client Lawyer.

Based in West London, Alison is married to Matthew and is inured to having three children in three different schools. Her interests include Theatre, Politics and Pilates. Although she learnt to Kick Box while trying to get her own son’s special educational needs met she is in absolutely no danger of taking up Triathlon type exercise.

Alison’s Philosophy – SEN SAT NAV

Special Educational Needs (SEN) is an umbrella term. It can be a useful label, but it doesn’t begin to explain that each child has specific learning patterns from the most challenged to the gifted and talented. Our children are children who learn differently in their unique ways.

Alison Pope’s extensive experience convinced her that parents of children who learn differently require a robust level of support. The idea of individualised SEN Sat Nav was born. She believes that an SEN strategy based around the individual child is a crucial element in supporting your child and your family. Alison is a confident, approachable and empathetic guide through what can be an expensive and stressful minefield for parents. She aims to help parents to negotiate the complex process of understanding and making the right provision for their child with learning differences. Sensitivity and discretion are at the heart of the work Alison does.

If you empower parents their children will thrive – however complex their needs.
